Boat Sales

 

Moss Bay will be selling all of our used single and double kayaks 35-40% off at the end of our 2010 summer season. Anyone who buys a boat can also take advantage of our used gear sale. We sell a paddle, jacket, paddle float/pump and skirt for $150. Take a look at the list below to see what we have to offer. All Singles & Doubles are 1 season old (4 months) - You can pre-purchase our boats as soon as we get them in (May 10th - June 1st), then take them away on September 15th, 2010. Our Alden rowing shells will be one season old in Fall 2010.

Boat Share

Experienced water sport participants and newcomers to rowing, kayaking, and sailing are not only excited to learn their favorite water sport, but often a bit apprehensive about which boat to buy. Moss Bay can help you with this important purchase decision with our Boat Purchase and Share Plan. Boat share is helpful in 4 important ways:
  • By selling you a great new or pre-owned boat right now that will give you the option to sell back to us.
  • By storing and insuring your boat at Moss Bay for free, and SAVING you a lot of money.
  • By letting you freely use your boat and all the different kinds of great boats at Moss Bay (free membership).
  • By offering you ongoing, complimentary skill improvement tips at Moss Bay.

    You can buy a brand new, top of the line, single or double kayak, or a pre-owned boat that is very durable and stable.

    With this 2 year agreement, you can enjoy your own boat as well as many other boats in the fleet at Moss Bay. You can access your boat 24 hours a day, any day of the year. And you don't have to be inconvenienced by transporting your boat, which is often the reason people don't get out on the water.

    In our Boat Share Agreement you are asked to "share" your boat with other boat users at Moss Bay. For this courtesy, we will insure, maintain, polish, and if necessary make repairs to your boat at no charge to you. No one is allowed to take your boat away from Lake Union (unless you purchase a plastic boat this is specifically included in our Take-Away Rental Program). Thus, your boat will not experience the kind of wear that commonly occurs from being bumped when transported or dragged ashore.

    You can elect to remove your new or pre-owned boat from the Boat Share Plan anytime after the first summer, without penalty. If you keep your boat in our fleet through the two year agreement, you reserve the right to sell back your boat to Moss Bay at 50% of the original purchase price, regardless of its condition. Boat share is a "win - win" situation for you and Moss Bay.

Private Boat Storage

Private boat storage is also available at Moss Bay Rowing and Kayaking Center. The monthly rate for a single boat is $35 per month. A double boat's storage rate is $45 per month. There is a 6-month minimum for storage on all boats. Premium rates may be applied during May - August storage.
